clutch sensor

ive just tried starting the bike, i turn on the ignition.. the system primes in nuetral but wont do anything when the start button is pressed.. except for dim the lights.. i have checked the fuses which are fine.. ive cheked the imobaliser (as the machine primes it wouldnt be that because if it was the imobiliser.. it wouldnt prime at all..) i put it in gear and held the clutch in and the system then wont prime.. which leads me to believe its the clutch in sensor.. any ideas where to find/check this???

thanks in advsnce

Re: clutch sensor!!

Check under the clutch lever first to make sure it isn't the connector which has dropped out.

If it was the clutch sensor then the lights wouldn't dim when you pressed the starter button; because if the clutch switch wasn't working then when you press the button you aren't applying power to anything. I suspect a low battery voltage or duff battery - enough to prime but not turn the starter.
