Anyone here fitted a Givi Rack?
1 Attachment(s)
Hi
Bought a rack and topbox off a felow .org'er last week and I got round to fitting it this week. For those familiar with the rack and it's fitting system (on a curvey I might add), then you should recongise my poor description. The arms went on okay, well, okay after having to drill/sand/file down a 'rogue' weld in the rectangular hollow part of the subframe so the little blocks could fit down snugly. The rack however, I am not happy with. There are two holes on the top of the supporting arms. On the main givi plate which goes onto these supporting arms, there is one hole and a long, rectangular hole. One set of holes match up and secure the plate initially. However, the elongated holes do not match up at all and are way off. Surely there aren't just two measly bolts that keep the plate fixed onto the arms, one on either side? Please see badly drawn piccy. P.S I have no camera. :( http://img217.imageshack.us/my.php?i...9857134uk4.jpg |

It only has 4 bolts on and he says you need to assemble the whole thing then fix to bike Assuming you taken whole of back end of bike off to attatch as they not easy to do There are only 2 bolts to hols plate on and 2 bolts on either side to hold arms on Hope this helps in some way |
Re: Anyone here fitted a Givi Rack?
Only the two bolts that hold on the plate, really? I've fitted one before, and think I used the same holes as you have done as shown but not this time.
Wouldn't have thought 2 bolts would be sufficient enough. Oh well, many thanks! :) |
