Curvey Speedo LEDS
I played with some LEDs for the backlight and status lights.
Most of the status lights were ok, but the neutral light is now more of a blue/turq color than green, and the fuel amber is more of a washed out amber. The intensity of the leds with the blue tinge they give off seems to make the colours go off. So if you plan on changing these, its prolly better if you get leds of the correct color first as most of the white ones are sold as Xeon White which is bluish. Ive yet to actualy to try the backlight at night, but the problem i can see already is that the clocks are going to be very bright around the edge of the tacho and speedo. I may play with modifying the led head to try and divert the light. |
Re: Curvey Speedo LEDS
I had the same problem when I changed the bulbs for LEDs. For the status lights i went back to standard bulbs and changed the dial ones for green LEDs which aren't as bright as the white ones

Ah that's a good point I hadn't thought of that

Re: Curvey Speedo LEDS
I've heard of people sanding LED's before to try and defuse the light some more. Might work for the back lights.
