flat spot
 
got a a flat spot between 5.5k and 6k

balanced the carbs and that's smoothed it out loads and improved the pick up loads when coming out of it, but its still there

soooo i thinking i have a air leak somewhere, can anyone give me some pointers to were the leak is likely to be to save me ar$ing about for ages

Lol, some shocking replies there, i've the same thing in around 2nd gear, just under 5K rpm, she sticks and sticks and then shoots off, im thinking a rejetting would help

i got it in 4th to 6th but im guessing its in all gears just more noticeable in high gears

There's usually a fair pick up in power at about 6k. Otherwise if it's a proper flat spot then check the position of the idle screws.

Have you had the carbs off or done anything else to it?
