Caliper seal
Everyone seems to be servicing their calipers these days so where did you get your replacement seals from? & how much?
Took the rear off my ZX6R and it looked like the seal was stiking past the piston at one point & I couldn't push the piston back into the caliper. I believe the rear on a ZX6R is the same as an SV caliper. |

Here's a good start. Think you get a tub of red rubber grease in the service kit. Prices are ok too |

As to compatibility with other bikes, yes lots of other bikes share the same size/type of caliper seals. I once ordered some Suzuki ones and was given official Honda parts! They were exactly the same size/type as the Suzuki ones. |
Re: Caliper seal
+1 for wemoto, good service and posted very promptly and as said comes with some pink grease so no need to buy anything else, also do most other spares so could get them at same time

Re: Caliper seal
Thanks, so do I need the full kit or just the dust seals kit?

Re: Caliper seal
If it's just the rear caliper you should only need the seals although some people will say you need to change the small seal in the caliper if you split it

Re: Caliper seal
oh and i normally get mine from wemoto as well
|
Re: Caliper seal
spares direct are bloody good too
|
Re: Caliper seal
+ 1 for wemoto.
Many other manufacturers parts work simply because the bike manufacturer doesn't make the callipers, in the Japanese market they are all either Nissin or Tokico. |
