Araldite

Re: which glue??
Yep, an epoxy resin like Araldite. Note that the fast setting versions aren't quite as strong as the slower (24hr) ones, so if you have the time go for a "standard" type. Check temperature range for use, it'll be slow in the cold, indoors is preferable this time of year.
As with any bonding, make sure the surfaces are totally clean and dry, best way is roughen with coarse abrasive paper. You'll probably find the guard and extender don't match absolutely perfectly, so use clamps. Someone lent me some spring clamps, like huge clothes pegs, which are perfect. |
Re: which glue??
I used a product called "Evostick Wet Grab" they sell it in B & Q, worked a treat and I've stuck two fenda extendas with it now and neither have moved or fallen off.
As Embee says, make sure you roughen up both the extenda and the mudguard as this give a better key for the glue to set. I've seen other people recommend a product called "Sikaflex" as well, but I've not got any experience of that myself. |

Silicone Sealant is what I used. Still holding on strong.

Re: Glue for fender extender?
I used the marine sikoflex, salt resistant too.

Re: Glue for fender extender?
Araldite worked fine for me, roughly 15k miles and plenty of track days.
