Expansion Chamber...Coolant not Draining

I have carried out a search of this, and found a simular post, but not the problem I am experiencing.

Fom yc in the seached thread was, IIRC the drains are all tee'd in and go down by your right heel.
Well when following another How to: Thread, it tells you to pour distilled water doen the expansion chamber, and the to remove the hose from the radiator and drop below the level of the chamber, in order to flush the chamber out of any old cooland left behind.

When I do this, the water just fills straight to the top of the expansion tank, and does not come out of the hose at the bottom.

Could the hose be blocked at the bottom of the chamber?

Yes it could be blocked/kinked. You have taken small hose off radiator neck right?

Yes I have yc, it's point 13 in this link http://forum.svrider.com/showthread.php?t=54075 I don't get anything draining from here.

If I pour water into the chamber would expect it to run out of this hose. No kinks in the hose at the lower end.

Blow into the hose (don't get a gobful of coolant, it's nasty)

Might be kinked at the bottom of expansion tank.

Oh yeah regarding that writeup. I've always found it far easier to avoid fishing around in the drain pan by the simple expedient of not dropping the drain plug in there.

disconnect hose from bottle and clean hole in it, it gets clogged like yorkie said.

Yeah, that part is easily avoidable not sure why the narrator would let that happen.

Will double check the hose in the morning, and look to taking the hose off to see if it is blocked with old coolant.

It's some wierd white crap that accumulates. I haven't had a problem with it since using OAT coolant diluted with distilled water, presume previous owner of mine used hard water. (think scale on kettle) as it turned the expansion tank white also.

yc, right once more, managed to unblock with a nail, and now I have filled up with new fluid. Thanks again.
