clutch

Hi all,

I have another thread which is asking peoples thoughts on an engine rattle. We have worked out that its not the Cam Chain or Shims etc! I was speaking to my uncle in the Isle of Man and he mentioned it could be something to do with the clutch bearings? The rattle appears on acceleration and disappears when the clutch is pulled in. Also if the bike is just ticking there is no rattle.

Anyone have any thoughts??

I would of thought it was just a general rattle, if you think its a problem then investigate it.

This doesnt necesarily indicate a problem with the clutch. Pulling in the clutch obviously removes the load on the engine too which can point to a long list of possible engine problems, or gearbox, or drive chain etc.

Do you get a rattle at standstill when the engine is ticking over?

only occassionally do you hear a slight rattle, not often, as soon as you rev it, it lets off a rattle
