HID bolt-on conversion
hello all, i know this has been covered a few time before but i am looking for your opinions on the best bolt-on hid conversion for both a pointy and curvy sv.
please note i am not technically minded, i am looking for a simple bolt-on kit which requires not soldering etc. any comments would be appreciated. thank you in advance Geoff |
Re: HID bolt-on conversion
I think a lot of members (myself included) will recommend hids4u.co.uk their kit was spot on for me. running twin 55w ones was too much for the stock fuse so I had to wire a new run for them that was all. but thats only because I'd got two of the higher kits.

Re: HID bolt-on conversion
Hey Geoffrey, sorry I did not get back to you earlier, busy days!
Mine is the 35w hids4u kit, I have not fitted enough of them to say any particular make is better than another though. With any there will be some small wiring mods to make. |
Re: HID bolt-on conversion
The kits predominantly come from the same factories in china anyway, they all look the same, the reason I go to HIDs4u is because they've always been good sellers and their customer support is excellent...
Wiring in 2x 35W HIDs will require a relay most likely, if you're not confident doing it get someone who is and don't just fudge it. It's honestly not difficult though, take your time and do it right |
Re: HID bolt-on conversion
Worst that can happen is it all catches fire anyway :-D

Re: HID bolt-on conversion
Yes most of them which use a relay come with a H4 male plug which you plug directly in instead of a bulb, then connect the feed wires directly to the battery. It is all fused and switched itself, so the actual headlight switch on the bars only controls a switching current for the relay.
