Small oil leak, 1999 SV650S

Hi all,

I have a small (doesent seem to be making much difference to the level, doesent activate the oil light) oil leak on my '99 SV650S. The leak seems to be coming from a pin hole in a hose above the crankcase next to the front cylinder. I havent had this bike long, so I cant say what the hose is... Any suggestions? Advice on a quick fix like a little hose clamp or something like that would be appreciated.

Sounds like the breather pipe. Is it on left side?

Closer inspection with a Haynes book shows that its the hose that ends in the idle speed adjuster...

That's not connected to anything that contains oil, it's just a wire inside to turn a screw. Either it is oil used to lube this dripping out, or it is spraying mist elsewhere.

Yeah, thats what I thought, perhaps the oil is running down the pipe from somewhere else and dripping off where it appears to be leaking. Judging from the consistency and colour I think it is probably engine oil of some kind.
