Brake pads
hi all,
just scrolling through the FleaBay for servicing kits and such like as im about to hit 7500 mile and its never been serviced other than me changing oil and maintaning the chain. are these any good? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Full-Set-Brake...item3ef729fa14 Cheers for any help Perry |
Re: Brake pads
I've used them before, thought they were alright. Better than stock brake pads imo.

Re: Brake pads
And another thing, have you had the bike from new and not serviced it?
If this is the case then you will have fun removing the pad retaining pins because Suzuki don't grease/copper slip them so they stick. When mine were first changed I couldn't get it to budge and had to take the bike to a spanner monkey and pay for the pads to be fitted. The mechanic tried heating it up but ended up having to cut the pin and then weld a nut on it so he could remove it, cost me a bloody fortune in the end. Haven't had a problem ever since as I now copper slip the pins. |
Re: Brake pads
1st owner had it from new and i beleive he had it serviced? hed only done 1300 in 3 years. ive had it for nearly 6 months and im one silly milage haha
my dad used to build plane engines, and has alot of knowledge with mechanics etc so i think i should be okay. Cheers for the info. should i be looking for certain things with servicing kits? |
Re: Brake pads
Oil, oil filter and spark plugs should cover what you want in a service kit, only other stuff to look for at that mileage is check all your nuts and bolts are tightened correctly, brake fluid and coolant levels are ok etc. . that sort of thang.

Re: Brake pads
Have used Goldfren in the past , great pads at a great price.
Also bought off ebay Rear pads seem to last about 18k a set Cheers Steveg |
Re: Brake pads
Just worth noting that if you ordered your pads from wemoto you'd get the same ones as those.
