GSXR Head bearings

Hi all,

Just got my GSXR600 front end and ordered the "special TWF" top head bearing for the curvy swap but I noticed that the GSXR lower head bearing is a roller bearing and the special bearing is a taper bearing. Should the lower bearing be a taper as well? Will the different bearings cause an issue?

No but if you are worried just get a single roller lower bearing such as

Depends what lower is in your frame. I would replace it while it is in bits.

Yeah, worth doing while it's apart on general principles. The operating loads can be a bit different, but then, the same can be true of 2 different roller bearings too so it's probably not worth getting too worked up over that.

i've got a taper top (TWF one) and OEM ball bottom one. Have had for many thousands of miles with no trouble.
