Electrical part on carbs?

My curvy sk1 is currenty in bits gettin lots of things done to it and I'm just wondering, why do I hav an electrical connector wired into the side of my carb? Surely theyr all vacuum and cable driven and the choke is cable driven also? Is it likely to b a heating element to aid cold starts or does my k1 hav some sort of
mixture sensor? It's on the rear carb on the brake lever side of the bike, near the cylinder manifold part, small black object held on with a screw at each side, sleeve comes off it to connector lol which splits to yellow, black and blue wires if Im seein these correctly? Any ideas what this is?

Without a picture of said connector or carburettor its hard to tell at a guess I say it was probably the wiring for the Carb heaters.

Throttle Position Sensor lives there.

Re: Electrical part on carbs?

Just one yes.

It gives more ignition advance under cruise settings to give a little better economy.

each carb bowl has two wires connected,(one has a flat blade connector the other is next to it and has a pin type connector) these are the heaters to prevent icing. The other thing is the TPS as Yorkie_chris says.

Hope this helps.

Re: Electrical part on carbs?

There is a setting procedure for the TPS on the carby model.
You'll find there's not much adjustment on the slots, but get it as near you can, it's not over critical.
