Power to coils but no spark
1999 SV650 won't start.
Neither cylinder has a spark but 12.5V is going to both coils. Electrics work, engine turns over etc. The last two times I started the bike before the time wouldn't start, it was hard to start, but once going seemed absolutely fine. I have changed the plugs, still no spark. I have remove one of the spark plug caps to check for a spark directly from the HT, still no spark. The is around 12.5V going to the coils with the ignition on, when i crank the engine this drops to around 9.5V, is this correct? I have checked the pulse generator coil as per the manual, the resistance of it was within the acceptable range and there was no continuity between it and ground. I have a multimeter and a manual, what should I try next? Thanks |
Re: Power to coils but no spark
9.5 a little low, try pop it on charge for a bit, eliminate that easy one first.
