Re: sv 650 tick over
Mileage?
Does it do it when cold/warm/hot? Any recent changes to the bike? Last service? Carbs could just need balancing. |
Re: sv 650 tick over
Tickover is too low my friend. Curvies tick nicely between 12-1400 rpm. This is why yours will cut out. Try to adjust this first and see if it makes a difference before feeling the need to do something more.
The way the needle is bouncing could indicate a carb balance is in order. |
Re: sv 650 tick over
just got the bike yesterday, it only does it after the bike is warm it has a beowolf can on it
how would i adjust the idle also how would i go about balancing the carbs or is it cheap enough to let a garage do it i am not that good with mechanics lol thank you |
Re: Curvy doesn't tickover.
There's a little black knob under the tank on the left hand side that adjusts the tickover speed.
If you haven't got any vacum gauges, get a garage to do the carb balancing this time |
Re: Curvy doesn't tickover.
IIRC its around here somewhere
http://figer.neostrada.pl/fotki//mot.../tensioner.jpg look for a small black flower shaped knob, cradled on the left hand side(as sitting on bike) This is the adjuster. Don't do it when the engine is cold, someone correct me if I'm wrong |
Re: Curvy doesn't tickover.
will have a go at the idle tomorrow, out of interest what price would i be looking at getting the carbs balanced at garage?
thank you |
Re: Curvy doesn't tickover.
dunno, sorry. I have a local monkey called Yorkie Chris that does it for small change, a packet of hobnobs and a barrel of tea!
