Default Curvy doesn't tickover.

hello just got an sv 650 2000 the thing is after it gets warm the tick over is at 1000rpm but drops like it is going to cut out every few seconds and has cut out on me today, starts right back up easy enough. my bike has a beowolf can

here is a video of the rev counter with sound sorry about the quality was filmed on my phone the issue with the tick over starts around 10 secs into the video but is hard to hear on the video

Mileage?

Does it do it when cold/warm/hot?

Any recent changes to the bike?

Last service?

Carbs could just need balancing.

Tickover is too low my friend. Curvies tick nicely between 12-1400 rpm. This is why yours will cut out. Try to adjust this first and see if it makes a difference before feeling the need to do something more.
The way the needle is bouncing could indicate a carb balance is in order.

There's a little black knob under the tank on the left hand side that adjusts the tickover speed.

If you haven't got any vacum gauges, get a garage to do the carb balancing this time

IIRC its around here somewhere

look for a small black flower shaped knob, cradled on the left hand side(as sitting on bike) This is the adjuster. Don't do it when the engine is cold, someone correct me if I'm wrong

Don't know as I've got my own gauges, its a bit of a fiddly job, because the take off for the front carb is tucked away.

Where are you? You might find an Orger nearby who's got the gauges to help you out
