The only problem is, that it won't stop the more clueless coppers from still (illegally) stopping and searching people. Or harassing photographers who take photos in public places.

We still have section 43 but we need grounds to search much like the other search powers we have.

Yep - the article states that this power will be brought into line with other police powers by requiring 'reasonable suspicion'. So the power hasn't gone away, just been reined in a little.
