Rectifier Wiring Colours?
Does anybody know the wiring colours from the Suzuki rectifiers that have the grey wiring ie which 3 are the alternator wire(yellow on early models) and which are the positive and negative. I am considering useing a late model rectifier on my 99 SV.

Re: Rectifier Wiring Colours:
The wiring colours have changed a few times - what colours do you have?
Alternator wires will ordinarily be three the same colour. |
Re: Rectifier Wiring Colours?
Have not got one yet. Did not realise they had altered so many times. Mainly concerned with pos and neg ones. Do not want to mix them up! Thanks for you reply.

Re: Rectifier Wiring Colours?
Alternators are 3 yellow on all sv's. Red is positive and black negative.

Re: Rectifier Wiring Colours?
The rectifier has 3 black wires into a plug with normal sized spade connections. 2 black with white trace +2 black with red trace into a plug with pin connections. (3black = 3 yellow, black white negative? black red positive?)
Can anybody confirm this? Late Suzuki's use these colour codes? |

* Three black from the alternator in one connector * Two black/white both to ground * Two black/red to the main fuse Anyone with some real experience like to confirm this? Keith. |
Re: Rectifier Wiring Colours?
3 solid black wires are from generator (same as yellow on curvy), 2 black/white are ground and two black/red are positive.

You could test for pos and neg by wiring up the three input wires but instead of connecting the others, just put a resistor between them and then check polarity with a multimeter whilst bike is running total loss. |
