Remove Sticky Residue
Not THAT sticky residue you pervs! Now I have your attention...
I put gaffa tape over the rear panels of the VFR to protect against scratches and the like while touring. She's being prepped for sale now and removing the gaffa tape has revealed a white powdery residue of the adhesive. Any tips for removing this? |
Re: Remove Sticky Residue
Steam clean?
Or Isopropl alchohol (wipe board cleaner) should do it. I use it for cleaning DVD's with sticky stuff on them, (no not that kind of stuff :p) |
Re: Remove Sticky Residue
Try WD40 - i use it to remove sticker residue / etc on my music gear. or Neat washing up liquid ( leave it to soak for a while)

Re: Remove Sticky Residue
Hi Stickypants
Yeah any stationary shop should stock it. Someone mentioned mayo works as well if left for 20mins or so? |
Re: Remove Sticky Residue
i heard about the mayo thing, but think its just vinegar as active ingredient and the mayo helps it stick,
ive used lynx deodorant, not anti-perspirant, to get anything off anything. permanent marker/sticker bits/spray paint |
Re: Remove Sticky Residue
Carb cleaner, WD40, Alcohol, hot soappy water
any of the above will assist in removing residue. The important question is what are you getting next? |
