Shock and Swingarm mod?
Can any one tell me if this would mount onto a SV650s k6?
|
Re: Shock and Swingarm mod?
Nope
The shock isn't in the right position for a SV |
Re: Shock and Swingarm mod?
You would not be advised not by me as the busa weighs twice that of the sv so spring rate would be all wrong even if it were to fit
|
Re: Shock and Swingarm mod?
Okay cheers guys. Basically I'm looking in to the possibility of trying to increase the spring rate and rear ride height as I'm 15.5 stone and over 6ft. Not sure of the best way to go about it.

Re: Shock and Swingarm mod?
The shock would be a good place to start

Re: Shock and Swingarm mod?
From what I've found so far, K3/K4 and possibly K5 have a good amount of stiffnes. A 636 or zzr 1400 shock for heavy guys and an 06/07 ZX10r shock will raise the rear ride height.
Anyone know of one that will do both or am I being a mong? |
Re: Shock and Swingarm mod?
Question of pennies really you can get shockers specifically for the SV that can/will be set up for your weight and are adjustable to suit conditions and style. A lot of people seem to want fit gsxr 600 shocks
any supplier to the minitwin brigade will help or advise you. Maxton Ohlins Nitron Hagon just email them with your requirements it costs nowt to find out. |
Re: Shock and Swingarm mod?
I have a B1h 636 shock for sale.
It's too stiff for me, 9.7kg/mm and I'm 11.5 stone. It also raises the ride height by 10mm, which is bad 'cus I'm short. |

I do have the rear raised about an inch though through fitting shorter links(dog bones) |
Re: Shock and Swingarm mod?
For the same reason I was going to do the Kwak rear shock mod, i had researched this quite alot and recomend you do the same. You need a shock from a 06/07 ZX10R. I even got as far as buying the shock, but have opted to buy a new bike when I'm back from my France Tour in a couple of weeks.
