Soo any thoughts?

I use Hiflo, I get them from a seller off ebay half a dozen at a time, I contacted him and got a special rate for bulk orders work out just over £5 each, he sells them for about a pound more each, work fine and it means I can use a new filter each oil change.

Cheers Mark.

Re: oil filters

much depends on how often and how your bike is used, my oil changes are normally around 3-3.5k,but it generally does hard work on it's runs, although not as many heat cycles :smt102 , I think Triumph state 4k for the S4.

Yea 4k for the speed four. I doing it at 3.5k this time though as i used comp4 (silkoline 15w50) last time and the bikes not liked it imo. I think its a lot happier with the fully synthetic stuff.

Forgot to ask, do you take your swing arm out rictus to grease all your suspension linkages etc?

As I just replied on FB, mines had Elf 4XT tech the last couple of times, but normally the HG semi works without problem, dam sight cheaper to.

Re: oil filters

not all the way no if I'm only doing the pivot, I slide the bolt out one side grease that, then put a short bolt in that side and remove the original to do the other side.

I've had the whole thing apart last year but I was doing everything then, so the shock came out as well.

Re: oil filters

Yea i tried semi this time. (i want to keep the 15w50 as it will cope with sitting in traffic better) but its just seemed a little noisier using the semi. Seems as though its not as crisp either. Lets hope the mobil will help things. The putoline fully synth seemed ok at reasonable prices.

Good idea with the bolt. Think im going to take mine appart this winter and maybe get the shock rebuilt as well. Just wondering if you did it as part of your 8k service?
