Gear shifter spindle
Just need some advise please.
I've noticed some play in the shaft that holds the lever on. Is it screwed in place? http://img.tapatalk.com/5433a8db-70f0-3cdc.jpg Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2 |
No one?

Re: Gear shifter spindle
Sorry, my K3 is done a different way, so can't help.
It sounds like you could be the one to discover the answer. Pop the circlip off and check the bearing material that your lever is running on, if it is similar to the K3, it is just a woven fiberglass type thing and will need cleaning and greasing. They do wobble though and I am not sure that they can be replaced. As for your pin, my guess would be a shrink fit or rivet, but you never know, it may be bolted in. Photograph your progress and see how you go. |
The shift lever is new i can see the black part move about 2mm up and down.
Im at work atm so can't play with it. Im hoping its got some thread and an allen key hole on the inside. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2 |

Re: Gear shifter spindle
Beware if you unbolt it.
There were a bunch of K6's that unbolted themselves in use (mine was one of them) leaving the lever hanging by the rod and no way of changing gear. Just make sure you do it up again nice and tight :) |
Re: Gear shifter spindle
Loctite may be an idea then.

Thanks so much guys.
I'll be careful on my way home. It has flats so I'll thread lock it too. Again thanks Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2 |
