Pointy weeping radiator

Hi,

Over the last couple of days I have noticed my radiator is weeping from some where, not sure where, it isn't easy to spot.

Would you lot suggest radweld or somewhere in Sheffield area that can repair it? Too skint for a new/used one.

In the mean time I am carrying round a bottle of antifreeze mix to top before my next ride to/from work. It isn't a spurt, just a drip every couple of seconds and only during/after a ride, is this a bad idea?

**EDIT**
Could a mod correct my title please?

Nip up the jubilee clips first it may be coming from where the hoses meet the rad

I will give that a bash, some of the fins are wet so I just assumed it was in that general area. Cheers

cheers, mine is not that bad, I can't even see where it is, any tips on finding it to have a bash at the the repair? Don't to go removing fins willy nilly to look for a crack/hole.

With the system full, and the radiator dry, add some talc powder, start the bike up and watch where it gets damp first.

Excellent idea, I'll try that later thanks. Went from full to low on ride home so I can't ignore it.

5 spots went damp around the same time :(

Re: Ponity weeping Radiator

Assuming those 5 spots are all separate on the rad core, and water isn't flowing along the back to emerge at 4 or 5 places at the front, I'd take that as a fairly clear indication that the radiator is past saving.

Aaron & Delkevic both make replacement rads that I suspect are cheaper than OE as listed in that other thread. That's what I'd do.

I'm sure you could use radweld, and maybe it would work for a while, but I really dislike products that work in that fashion as they're blunt tools that could end up gumming up coolant passages if you got unlucky. You're going to have to replace it anyway, just bit the bullet and do it now.

Called a few local breakers, one has a 2000 radiator in, but I'm pretty sure that won't fit from my internet research.
