Remember that SV newbie a few months back?

In case some of you hadn't seen my thread already, I just wanted to update you guys with the progress I've made over the last few months since I was last down in Guildford and went for that scary induction ride!

Here's the thread, let me know what you think!

Did you ever nip your tick-over up a touch to solve that random stalling?

I tried that, but it didn't solve the problem.

The problem has been solved now though - looking back on it, I don't know how I didn't guess it was this the whole time..

But I took it round a mate's house, his dad came out to admire my bike. At this point, it wouldn't go into neutral when idling, had to turn the bike off to get it into neutral. So he fiddled with the clutch adjustor on the handlebars and voila! She slid into every gear perfectly, clutch bit in the correct place, and hasn't stalled since!
So long as I keep the lock nut nice n tight it hasn't caused any more issues. Such a simple solution, I kick myself for not thinking of it myself..

So basically your clutch wasn't pulling in all the way / full disengaging?

Could you not feel the bike pulling forward a tiny bit when stationary and the clutch in?

Nope, it must have done it, but only a tiny tiny amount that I couldn't feel it

I wish sorting my clutch out was that easy mate!

Dont worry Jammy. We'll destroy your clutch and gearbox while removing the front sprocket nut.
