Bar Grip Replacement?

I need to replace the clutch lever assembly or perch if you will on my SV650S '99 model. To do this I need to slide it off of the bar, but the bar grip is in the way. Is there a tip or trick to help remove the grip if I wanted to reuse it? I have done this in the past but as I was replacing the grip I just cut the old one off, this time however I fancy reusing the grip and saving myself a couple of quids...

Shove a screwdriver down there to release all the glue and pull? May take some time though. Just a thought?

Yep. Get a screwdriver with a long thin shaft. Insert it slowly and gently between the rubber and the handlebar. Work it gently around the entire circumference of the grip. Spray a liberal amount of WD40 into the gap and twist and or peel the rubber off.

Good luck.

Push the wd40 tube under the grip as far as you can. Squirt wd40 and twist the grip. Repeat until the grip is off.
