hi , mine did the same 1999 curvie , right in the frount of the bike , right hand side is a plastic yellow connector check that , mine had a wee bit of rust on pins , cleaned them up , bit of wd40 and worked great , def sounds like a lose wire , good luck

That was mine, twas the white wire from the left hand switch gear, metal connector were burnt and rusted, cut them and bypassed the connector, has been fine since. Mine is also a 1999 Curvy.

Exact same issue with mine, clean and lubricate the pins and see if that solves the issues

From the previously mentioned thread:

1) Dip switch
2) White wire from dip switch through left switchgear connector, into wiring harness and to fuse board
3) Fuse board and fuse holder
4) White wire from fuse board back to the bulb connector
5) Bulb connector
6) Any other connectors along that route that I can't think of right now

If you have the same problem as Davyrach did, in that the lights would flick on and off when the steering is moved, then the fault most likely lies in/around the area of the loom and connectors at the steering head and forward.
