Warning lights
My bike has CHEC on on the screen the other day.
Is this a warning that the oil is getting low or something? |
Re: Warning lights
This can flash up even if your bike is parked in gear when you switch on, it can also indicate other less obvious issues too. As far as I know, you have an oil warning light that will tell you if your oil level is low. The best bet is to manually check oil level though, then work through the rest.
I think that you can also put your bike into dealer mode and get a fault code that will tell you what is wrong if anything, however you will need to talk to others about how to do this or search threads on here. |

Wrong. The oil light is to indicate low oil pressure Therefore if the light is not lit when you turn on the ignition you have a fault either in the sensor/wiring or blown bulb. Turning on the ignition is the one time you want to see the light. If it is on when the engine is running. Then Houston we have a problem |
Re: Warning lights
Most common appearances of the Chec light are, as Jayneflakes says, bike in gear, or if the kill switch is still in the 'kill' position.

On a slightly more serious note, When ever I have seen the chec sign it is because I have had the bike in gear with the side stand down or just not raised properly. Investigate the simple things before you start to worry too much or even discount it completely. :D |
Re: Warning lights
It is a very good point though and something I always forget.
