Size of engine mounting bolts and advice on removing them?

HI,

Could someone tell me what size the middle engine mount bolt is? I know I dont have the right size and will need to borrow tomorrow, its the same bolt the fairing mount / crash bung goes onto.

any advice on taking this out with one person or is it a two man job? I just need to remove the fairing fixing kit.

Be very careful, as they get seized in place.

It it doesn't undo easily, don't be tempted to lean on the socket or spanner with all your weight.

Beg, borrow or buy an electric impact wrench.

Soak them in Plus Gas over night before attempting removal.

if i understand what your after then it's a suzuki only bolt. the bolt that holds the fairing stays (brackets) is longer than the half/naked bikes so you need to get the shorter ones from suzuki. good news is that dealers usually have loads kicking about due fitting lowers onto S bikes.

if its the lower fairing brackets its 17mm if i remember right.

yes Cupar will have them. just ask nicely and you might get for free.

you want the main bracket bolts to turn the bike back to an S (half faired)
