Bypassing ignition switch for track bike? Curvy

Hello folks,
I've booked a track day in a couple of weeks time but I've gone and done a blunder and lost my only ignition key

Time is running out to try and find it, I've turned the house over and still nothing. As the bike will only be used on track I was planing on converting the standard loom to a race one over the winter months. Part of that will involve getting rid of the ignition barrel and using the kill switch as the ignition.
Now I'm forced to do that sooner rather than later or my track day's out the window.

I have an '02 curvy SV650.

Can anyone offer any help or advice please? An idiots guide with any photos would be well appreciated as wiring isn't my first language ;)

Cheers,
Dave

I'm no electrical genius. Here's a thread from Svrider.

Ignore my original post, that was for a Pointy, here's Zoran's diagram. If he doesn't know, no one will.

Cheers bud, could really do with an idiots guide as in, "take the red wire, cut the blue....."
I've clicked on that link but page one asks for info on an 05 SV.
Thanks anyway fella.

Or call out a locksmith & get him to make you a key, they can do this. Might cost.

Or depending on your time frame, buy a 2nd hand lock & key

To solve the OP's problem:
Go to ebay, buy a cheapy pattern ignition switch and do the trackday.

There is a simple way to bypass the igntion switch, but for obvious reasons I'm not scribbling it onto a public forum. And it won't be terribly useful anyway, as if you do so even when the kill switch is off to stop the engine, the rest of the bike's electrics will still be on. When you convert your bike to track use the kill switch can be used to switch the whole lot, but it does require some rewiring, not just bypassing the ignition switch.

Although he calls the ignitor a CDI, which it isn't.

You send him the ignition and he will cut 2 new keys for £45 posted. Calling someone out is probably going to be around £130+

Thanks for the advice Sid, I understand why it's best not to explain how to start an SV without a key on an open forum!
If there's anything further you can add to your post could you PM me instead?

Cheers,
Dave
