Missing a cylinder

I know it's not an SV but I was hoping someone will be able to help me.

The raptor has started running onto one cylinder intermittently. The other day it would do it for a second or so and then be fine and it's got prgressively worse and worse where now it will hardly pull from rest and is rougher than a badger's ar5e everywhere through the rev range and will not run properly at all.

I've changed the plugs, put injector cleaner in the tank and sprayed pug caps and HT leads with WD40 in case it was those and it's worse than ever this morning and died going through a set of lights.

I'm getting to the stage where I'm scared to ride it because I don't know what it's going to do next.

Can anyone help me because I'm really really fed up now and don't know what else to try.

Italian Electrics...need i say more :(

Id check all the normal stuff like leads to coils, leads to plugs. Look for wires shorting on frame etc.

You're right Mitch but the engine and most of the electrics are TL 1000 though

Have you tried replacing the HT leads? Check the wiring. If not, it could be the fuel injection sensors. My Ducati had similar problems when the FI sensors started playing up. If it's reading the temperature of the cylinder incorrectly then it will be getting the mixture wrong which could cause this sort of problem. As others have said, 'Italian electrics' :(

As you've only recently bought it from a dealer Amanda why not take it back and politely but firmly demand they put it right?

Agreed!

Amanda, I hate to say this, but it does sound like a bit of a lemon at the moment. I really hope that you get it sorted. Get back to the dealer and get them to put it right. Hopefully, it will just be teething problems and then it will all be perfect.

You should have kept the SV.
