bike doesnt start first time when cold
 

ive had my 650 about 2 months now....
it used to start with full choke first time and every time, with no throttle, just a button press.

recently i have been having slight trouble with it, and having to give a slight blip of throttle to get her started, the idle speed then raises and is fine from then on....

its not a big issue, but i like things to be right :D

any ideas?

Try with not as much choke. It might not need it now.

Is it due a service? Plug, filter etc....condition, plus carb or throttle body balance may help.

Is your idle speed set correctly ?
I was having the same problem, my idle speed was set too low.
Set it correctly (1300rpm on a K1) and it starts great now.

shouldnt need a servise..., but im gonna check plugs soon.

ill try it with less choke, that sound slike a good idea... perhaps flooding it a little.

mine starts without choke most of the time, if its snowing and it wont start, I use the car :P

It shouldnt need any or hardly any choke between March and November, unless you live in Finland :D
