Heated Grips - Oxfords
 

I searched the forum and found there were two types of Oxford Heated Grips available. It was impossible to distinguish which were which and for which purpose from the dialogue.

It appears one is for alloy bars and the other for steel bars. (Seems a free hat came with one model and not with the other) :?


Anyone know the model numbers but even better, anyone know which would be best for a Ducati S4 Monster with solid alloy bars ?

I think every one there is out there now, unless it's old stock, will be the newer version which works with alloy bars. If you search for Oxprod's posts on the subject all should become clear :)

Got it - as clear as mud

Mine are OF695 2004/05 with aOxford multi purpose tube (not a beanie) but anyway my question is I hope they will work with my bars which are solid alloy - NOT tube alloy.

Shooter...Please forgive my ignorance here,( :oops: ) but the other day you mentioned to me about fog. What season are you guys in down there at the moment? :? :shock: 8)

Should work the same for tube or solid I imagine... All it is is a bit of insulation between grip and bar so the bar material shouldn't make any difference.

We are mid Winter here in NZ.

Winter is a relatively mild event in my region eg no snow (ever) and temp ranges 4 overnight to 14 Celsius during the day. Occassional frost. There is probably never a day that one could not ride, unless you hate rain (and we get a bit of that in Auckland).

Fog is just un naturally cold ( I hate it actually and I also detest the drivers that do not use their lights in the fog - another issue)

...any way - hence the Heated Grips.

Biggest problem now - the butt ugly control unit that has to install somewhere handy and visible.

I think Oxprod said you could replace it with a switch- though you'd lose the adjustability.
