Engine casing!

Hi All,

The K3 SV650S that I recently acquired had been driven fairly hard through the winter months and is showing the signs. The most annoying one is on the area shown below (this is not my bike, but the only picture I could find at work).

The casing looks bubbled in the bottom corners of the circular bits (on both sides) and some of the metal has come away and looks pretty naff to be honest. Is there anything I can do? Or can I just replace the casings and if so, how hard is this to do...would I need to take all the oil out...would it be best to get my local Suzie dealer to do it for me?

Thanks

Andy

mate you should see mine.. knackered!

k3, with 22k miles, and the surface is pitted, and bubbled to hell. Its a disgrace but the dealer said it was normal wear and tear, unfortunately I never followed it up when it first started.

Can you not use something like black hammerite to paint it?

I could do but thought it would be easier to buy a new casing??? Surely you must be able to get this from somewhere?

I would rather not go down the fix it myself route as this may lead to it becoming worse!

Hi

If you choose the paint over route, Hammerite will chip and it will look even worse. Don't have an alternative to suggest, sorry.
