blackpool/fylde/poulton sprint
 

now then chaps and chapesses :!: i came down to blackpool a few years ago and there was a bike sprint event going on at the sea front, fyled or poulton i think its called.

the guy who won the lottery.......karl something, was racing on a fireblade at the time. didn't know it was on and found it purely by chance. good day. do any of you folks know if this event still takes place at all/when etc :?:

Was it a while back Mal? Where the bikes still steam powered at that time? :wink: :P

It used to be on the lower promenade near Bispham Cliffs, with the "pits" near the Metropole Hotel

Not sure bikes'll be doing it because a rider got killed a few years ago :(

This is the only thing I can find about the event!! (I'm positive it used to be July/August!!??)

might have to bimble down and see, how'd you know what date, is there anymore info?

nice one mudge, didn't know a rider was killed :( . i have a real passion for anything like this be it stock car, speedway etc. that sprint at three sisters looks a good run. never been there though.

barbon sprint is a good one for the vintage/power ranger fellows (hello senior P) so i've heard. will look up dates.

national automobile club........mmm. will keep an eye on this. even if its cars might be worth a look :)
