I'm not condoning doing it, But you can see why some people dont bother with insurance. Thats absolutly ridiculous, and what would your insurance comapny do if somebody hit your car. Yep they would write it off.

Have you tried some of those companies that opted out. I guess you did a search on confused.com ?

I found elephant reduced my insurance from £1200 £520 when I had my Golf.

Ha ha ha, with TP only the price went up by about £100!!!! The excess is more than the value of the car!

Reminds of when the second best quote for the daytona 650 I wanted was asking for £10,000!

I can't register it somewhere else as I won't be able to get a parking permit.
