estimated milage ? what happens if i exceed this

as title says, now that i am limited to an annual milage :( what happens if i exceed this ?

will it be a slap on the wrists if i get caught ? or a voided policy ?

I would imagine they could use it as a way to avoid paying a claim if they could prove it. Thing is my insurance co asked me how many miles I would do but not my current milage. What is you limit?

The elastic band will reach it's limit and you will be jettisoned back to the start position. :P

They come round and let your tyres down. If they catch you at it again, they give you a big cut on the sidewall to teach you a lesson.

Depends if they noted your existing mileage mate, did you tell them? if you are going to go over that amount, you need to let them know, or your cover will be void afaik.

I was once told by a mate that works for Direct Line is that what would happen is they would reduce any payout by the increase in premium you should have paid. Best bet is don't have a claim. :? 8)

It'll turn into a pumpkin.

I always get mine unlimited... The difference seems to be pretty trivial.

I put down 12,000 miles per year for my insurance.. slightly over that now... and still a month and a bit to go... where's the unlimited option when you need it! :P

I suppose they could demand the MOT to check your mileage but I can't recall this being an issue.I would guess that there is a reasonable overshoot allowed before they kick up ,perhaps 10%????

I had this when I had my trusty (NOT!) Beetle which I had restricted mileage insurance for. I told them when I was about to go over, I don't recall they upped my premium (or if so, not by much as I would have remembered), but had to have increased mileage come renewal time.
