Front brake discs
Is there anyway of tightening the disc on the carrier as one of mine has come loose and clunks when I brake. Just to note they are TL1000 discs on my SRad from end conversion. Any help will be appreciated.

Your bobins are worn out, i have the same problem at the moment. Unless you can find a company selling you these bobins you are stuck to get new disks.

I've got a used set of EBC Prolite rotors with very low miles on them if you are interested. They are the TL/SV1000 fitment rotors that will work with your conversion. New they run $220-$240 each, I'd take $265 for this pair. PM me for more info. --Speed |
As long as you mean that the disc bolts are tight and the braking surface is moving on the carrier you can get rebuild kits:
http://www.stealthproducts.co.uk/products/discs.php Not sure on the equipment needed to fit them though, and if there is wear on the carrier this may not help. Also not sure if as stated above that you can rebuild standard disc. |
My pads move in the calipers, making a clunk

Billy My personal opionion is just get new ones. My experience with the EBC Prolite is that you have a build up of rust when not used even for a day or two(something to do with high iron content or something) You could go for that or any other after market ones that peeps say are good but I would check with the manufacturers regarding stability with regards to that issue when not used for a while. OE tend not to have the problem and same as the 'Braking' wavy discs I have.
Sometimes it can be difficult getting good used ones and you just end up wasting time(and money if really unlucky) mucking around. Sure you can get good used ones but I have had my fair share of dodgy ones from breakers and now more inclined to get new. If you decide to get new, get some prices and let me know via PM. I may be able to help. Cheers Ben |
