foam under tank

why is there foam under my curvy tank?

To deaden the induction noise

01 sv650s 02-11-06 06:53 PM

does it make much difference if you remove it

northwind 02-11-06 06:56 PM

Nope :) But, if you've got a free-flowing filter fitted it can help remove airflow restriction, much like tank spacers. And it prevents the risk of it falling off and blocking your filter, as sometimes happens :)

so if i remove the foam & lift the front of the tank by 15-20mm will it sound better?

northwind 02-11-06 08:22 PM

Dunno really, I've changed too much other stuff to say. You could buy the used Renegade airkit that's on EBay, I thought it sounded rubbish but I'm in a minority ;) It's £25 at the moment, bargain...
