The new £20 note
I know who Adam Smith is because I live near Kirkcaldy and the local college is named after him....he is known in these parts.
Odd that the next (maybe) prime minister of the UK is also Kirkcaldy too... |
Re: The new £20 note
Is there a big blank space on the note? That'd be the picture of the invisible hand.
Ah, the raw materials of that joke are good but the finished product is awful. |
Re: The new £20 note
Why have we got a Scot on an English note ???
Maybe you Scots don't get yours out enough to see them ? :D . |
Re: The new £20 note
It's got something to do with the division of labour.
Nothing to do with a split in the Labour Party. Sorry this is starting to sound like an extension of Northy's joke.:) |
Re: The new £20 note
I've counted 3 different Scottish £20 notes from 3 different banks...confused? I am:confused:

Re: The new £20 note
Anyway Royal Bank of Scotland, Bank of Scotland and Clydesdale Bank produce REAL money, English banks are Promissory notes drawn against the Bank of England's gold reserve (if i remember right (my maths teacher was far right SNP - any further right and he would fall over) and loved bashing them whenever the chance arose).
Besides we have Scots in most of the English government top spots now. Taking a note from the Jerries, why try to take over by force of arms when the political back door works better. Anyway aside from hijacking the thread thats all. |

All you need now is a few Welsh and Irish people on your money and you'd be all set. |
Re: The new £20 note
Well the Bank of England is the UK's central bank after all and let's not forget it was founded by a Scotsman, William Paterson.
