Opinion on Radiator!
Hi all,
Went on a trackday, had an offy, and the only potentially serious damage was to the radiator. (The Fairing bracket attached seems to transfer the weight to it) See here: http://www.geocities.com/steve_goduk/DSC01308.JPG http://www.geocities.com/steve_goduk/DSC01309.JPG http://www.geocities.com/steve_goduk/DSC01310.JPG Now... it runs fine, no temperature issues, however not sure whether how far it has moved back would have damaged anything else, and thought I'd see if anyone has had anything similar happen to them - or know more technical knowledge about what exactly it could've moved into! Cheers :) |
Re: Opinion on Radiator!
No ideas about the rad, but good to see the OEM fairing mounts which are also used to mount the Suzuki crash bungs were up to their usual high standard and folded at the first opportunity!
(still bitter about the damage mine caused when they folded!) |
Re: Opinion on Radiator!
If you run the bike up to temp and the fan cuts in and works, then you'll be fine as it is, the fan and wiring is all you'll have damaged behind there.
Cheers Mark. |

Re: Opinion on Radiator!
You're rad doesn't look as bad as mine. But your rad guard looks worse (do you want a replacement?).
The only issue I had was the Rad pushed the radiator hoe to foul the throttle so it didn't return and I had cruise control. But has been fine for a long time now after I pushed it back out of the way. |
Re: Opinion on Radiator!
i bent mine in my wreck but it still works with no leaks so i figured it was good enough

Re: Opinion on Radiator!
I would check that the fan can still spin as others gave suggested mine has been bent worse than yours and has covered several thousand miles without any problems.

Re: Opinion on Radiator!
;)if it starts leaking just but some bubble gum in it that should work
