Crash bungs advice
Having decided my R6 looks a bit vulnerable at the moment i took a look in the R&G website to check out some costs. I was a bit surprised to say the least with the number of bungs/reels for different places....i want to protect my bike not turn it into an armadillo!
On my SV i just had one set of bungs through the lowers, but R&G offer top/front and lower/rear. Are these an either/or or are they designed to work together? Also spindle sliders/cotton reels/fork protctors....worth it or gimmick? Obviously Mr.R&G wasn't much help....he recommended i buy everything :smt117 Cheers Mark |
Re: Crash bungs advice
This is pretty second hand, but i remember a guy on Visordown who fitted only the top set to an R6, crashed it, and holed the crankcase... Bitter man, he was going to sue R&G  but he couldn't decide why, either using half of their recommended set should have protected the bike, or they shouldn't have sold him half if it needed both, either way it was ALL THEIR FAULT.
I'd fit both, if it was me :) |

That's hardly surprising with the amount of time you spend on the floor though! ;) |
Re: Crash bungs advice
dont they state "To help protect you bike" not to "Protect your bike" i'd fit as many as i could afford.

Bung it to hell and back I say :) |
Re: Crash bungs advice
Definately get the lower ones - R series Yamahas like to break the clutch lifter/clutch case when they go down on the right.
