Correct order of doing the following jobs

I need to do the TPS adjustment, Throttle body balancing and Valve clearences. I was wondering which order I should do them in as I know the TPS can be affected by the throttle body balancing. Obviously the first two won't actually effect the results of the third, but I was wondering if after altering the shims (if necessary) it would affect the TPS and/or throttle body balance?

I think I've finally got all the tools needed, just wanted to see what the right order was before I get my hands dirty. Thanks in advance.

Morning all.
Valve shims first, TPS adjustment second, & balancing third.
Incorrect valve clearances can indeed cause the synchronization to wander.

Cheers.

Thank you, Sir. I ended up going for the carbtune you recommened (2 cyclinder, "carbtune pro").

Where did you get it from Ceri? Direct from Morgan? - I heard that they are having supply issues? Sorry to derail your thread...

Busters. They had them in stock and, oddly enough, it worked out a couple of quid cheaper than buying direct.

Like Ceri, I too thought the TPS was affected by balancing the throttle bodies. I stand corrected.

Oh and how much damage are you doing if all 3 are seriously out?

As a major service should include Valve clearance check and carb sync anyway, it's not a lot more work to check the TPS while you're in there...

Afternoon all.
I always find that as balance has the greatest effect on how an engine runs, it's best to it do last. Although in practise you could do the TPS adjustment last, as it has no effect on the balance of the throttle bodies.

Stu, valve clearances are the main thing that can damage your engine if they're seriously out of tolerance. Poor balance & TPS adjustment though not ideal, tend to make your engine run lumpy, as opposed to seriously damaging anything. I'd still get it sorted though.

Cheers.

I think that's what I've got at the mo' seriously lumpy vibration through the footpegs & viscous throttle response. Hope the clearences are OK - any telltale signs for them?
