If you just slacken the cable it does obviously change the bite point, but causes a few problems.
Firstly you get a floppy lever.
Secondly (as I discovered) all that slack flying around allows the clutch cable outer to move about then catch on the adjuster and/or drop out. This gives you either a clutch that doesn't fully disengage, doesn't engage or does not work at all none of which are good poisitions to be in while out and about.
For now I've slackened the cable right off and used an old piece of fuel line to insert a dummy stop between the lever and the lever mounting point. This gives me a firm lever but closer to the bars and no floppyness.
I can not see why you get an adjustable reach brake lever yet the clutch lever that you use more often is fixed. Surely Mr. Suzuki could have spent the extra fiver per bike to make them both adjustable.
