Hey all!
I've done a search on my thread title, to no avail. With that, may i ask what setting peeps use when carrying a pillion, please? I presume this is all to do with weight, though is there a "known standard"? I've taken a pillion before and didn't feel the need to adjust the shock from the factory 4 setting as the bike litterly didn't move when she climbed on (she was only about 6 stone) ![]() ![]() Any assistance or advice would be very much appreciated! ![]() Many thanks is advance! |

Hi Girth,
Yeah I did, as per the sticker on the chain guard. |

well I upped the preload by a couple of notches, and left the tyre pressures well alone
dosnt make any differance though really, a pillion will still make the bike heavier, but more stable |

There is no 'standard setting' - the load, that is; the weight of you and your pillion, dictates the preload setting required.

With a standard shock, and a pillion/rider combo of any real mass, then it will probably be near the top.

I set my rear shock to position 6 (of 7) and that was it. Left the tyre pressures and front alone.
Should probably look at the preload..... |
