Default Bolts working loose due to vibrations

Specifically the one holding on my left foot peg. Is this due to is not being on tight enough (I've tried tightening it a few times) or is there something I can do to stop it working loose? At the minute it needs re tighening every few hundred miles.

You could stick some threadlock on it. I've managed to lose one of my right footpeg bolts

+1 - those bolts are thread locked in when bike is originally assembled - or mine were anyway.
