Default Hole in rev counter face?

Hi this is my first post, hello. A few years ago I noticed on my 2005 sv650s a hole have appeared in the face of the rev counter. Taking it to my local Suzuki dealer in Preston they eventually replaced the clocks for free despite the bike being out of it warranty. Now the holes back. It looks like it been burnt just above the pivot of the needle. Anybody had the same problem? I havnt fitted an aftermarket screen, so it's not sunlight that's burnt it.
Thanks
Simon

Pictures might help, but my first thought would be that the Sun is being focused on the clocks.

Not a common problem with a standard screen to my knowledge, are you certain the screen is standard?
