Rear light and indicator wierdness!

After nearly finishing a front end swap, I was testing that all the lights etc were working correctly the other day and all was well except for the rear light and indicators. When I put the left indicator on, the top 3 leds on the rear light on the left hand side flashed along with the indicator (indicator, light, indicator, light etc) and the same was the case on the right hand side. Also, the top 3 lights on both sides seemed slightly less bright than the rest of the lights when on as normal. I'd had enough of tinkering by this point so left it until yesterday to have another look.

When I had another look yesterday to see if things had miraculously righted themselves, all 6 of the top 3 lights weren't working at all (rest of the light ok on both light and brake) but indicators were fine.

So any ideas as to what could be wrong? Loose connection somewhere? Light unit goosed?

To save you good people any time in trying to help me, I've sorted this now (hopefully!)

With me not messing with any of the wires, I suspected after not having been run properly this year that the battery may of been a bit low so put it on charge first thing, worth a try I thought. Anyway, battery charged connected it back up and checked everything again and everything is working perfectly, at least for now!
