Default new exaust+bmc filter, what next guys?

being very new to biking (and lovin it ) i have changed the filter and exaust on my k4, a blueflame ti evo and a bmc air filter, i am sure this was a good thing to do as it feels much more alive now. however i am being told to get the fuelling looked at and maybe run it on a dyno which has thrown me a bit. could anyone tell me if this is necessary and why it is needed as i am very unmechanically minded

also, looking for suggestions on what to do next?

its not all that necessary! its all personal choice dude!
i got pipe and filter and it runs just fine!

people say its needed cos it changes the fuel air ratio and therefore the running temp and power output etc! leaving it wont kill it...adjusting it may add a couple of ponies but probly not worth the cash!

Power commander or similar. Will be running very lean mate. Does it take longer then usual to get to idle when you let off the throttle?

Well, depends... From what I hear filters alone in an injected model don't achieve very much.

Get the 1000's intake snorkel, sounds better. No more power though.

Why not just do what I did with my SV 1000 - REMOVE the snorkel entirely

want a bigger bike now but feel i should be able to throw this one about a bit better first. gonna get a bigger one when ive worn out my third pair of sliders, which at the moment aint happening unless i use sandpaper

bit more time and confidence needed, chicken strips gradually getting smaller, only 6 months ago had never ridden before so cant be too hard on myself

gotta say guys it has definately took all the fun out of my car now, feels like i got a brick under the accelerator pedal front wheels feel best when they are light!

BMC filters are supposed to be much 'better' than K&N's (i.e. let much more air through ) So If I were you, I would have the fueling looked at - Get the bike 'Yoshi' tuned rather than go to the expense of a PowerCommander etc.

You should see an increase in BHP on a Dyno Doing your Timing Retard Elimination (TRE) Mod and your Timing Position Sensor mod will help 'smooth things out' too
