See this thread for Part I
Well, i got the letter from parcelfarce this morning with the customs charges: Import duty : £16.22 VAT: £63.23 Clearance Fee: £13.50 So that brings my total to pay to £407.74 - about £40 more than i'd budgeted for, partly because i'd not included the currency conversion fee (£9.16), clearance fee and the fact that they've charged me 5% Import duty and 21% VAT - go figure, i thought it was 17.5% ![]() Anyway, i'm not complaining, considering i now have a Yoshi RS-2 full system, James Dean Jetting Kit, associated bolts and screws for the carb and engine covers (ignition and clutch) for the DRZ, arriving on Tuesday from the other side of the world (Nevada) - all for £120 less than the list price of the exhaust alone in the UK long live the US recession and interent shopping ![]()

yep, you can't even get the James Dean kit in the UK - if you substitute the DynoJet Kit (which doesn't include all the needles you need for the DRZ) for the JD kit, add the likely cost of other parts, the total cost of all these bits in the UK (assuming no discount obviously) would be somewhere in the region of £650

Customs are hot on that now, they're more likely to check it if it's marked as a gift than if it's marked properly. plus the fact that most US shippers aren't stupid enough to sign off a commercial package as a birthday present because they'll be liable - personally i don't think it's worth the risk anymore...
