See my point about cheap tools in TM's thread tho. Draper wrenches have come up in the past, and have been deemed as suitable if not great. Draper would be, in my opinion, the very lowest spec/price one to go for. Cheap tools are a false economy. Look through the service/Hanes manuals in the Torque section it will list all torques for the bike, use that as a guide as to whether you will be getting the correct Torque range.

Richie!!!, with your trade card, how much did you get torque wrenches priced at (we spoke ages ago about it, if you remember it) |

I think the Draper wrenches are fine for occasional use, I checked one against my Britool and it over-read by only a few percent and felt quite pleasant to use.
(Edit - in the other threads most people would disagree. Autoexpress thought a Draper one was OK. If in doubt play safe and go for the Halfords Pro one) 10-80Nm is about the ideal for most bike stuff, you'll still find a few fasteners outside the range but you won'y get a single tool to cover everything. Note that on the link you posted they list the same tool with or without a case, get the case, it's worth a couple of quid to keep it protected. The prices on there seem very competitive.

![]() depends on who makes them , if they are cheap nasty chineese imports or banged out in someones shed then yes, However there are a lot of toos that are made in Germany and shipped here cheaper than we make them in rip off UK. The thing to lok out for on cheap tools is the TUV mark , if it has that its German more than likley and more than up to the job. I have plenty of tools from my time in Germany bought from their tool shops, and they have lasted a dam sight longer and cost half the price. we in the UK get ripped off all the time. |

I'm surprised about the negative view on draper. I agree that some of the stuff they make can be cheap and nasty but on the whole I've found their kit to be pretty good, torque wrenches included.
As an aside, I had a Snap-On torque wrench last year that failed a calibration in our inspection lab by 10Nm! My spare Draper 10-80Nm wrench was spot on. so expensive doesnt guarantee accuracy. These tools need looking after and calibrating every now and again. |

Generally I find Draper kit to be good. Just that from peoples experiences it seems that Halfords may be better. I just make a habit of , and advise others, of buying the best I can afford.
